When do you have to book and travel to earn bonus Etihad Guest Miles?
This promotion is valid for bookings between 17 July and 10 August for travel between 1 September until 15 December 2014.

How do you participate in this promotion?

Register your Etihad Guest membership number before 10 August 2014. This promotion is valid for all bookings made online, through your local travel agent or the Global Contact Center.

What can you get with your bonus Etihad Guest Miles?

With this exciting offer, if you take one return long-haul flight in First Class, you would earn enough miles to redeem up to two free domestic tickets on Virgin Australia. For instance, if you fly between Sydney and London in First Class you earn up to 163,725 miles. This is sufficient to redeem two return tickets in Business Class between Adelaide and Sydney on Virgin Australia or a one-way Business Class ticket between Sydney and London on Etihad Airways.
*Terms and conditions apply. This offer is exclusive to Etihad Guest members based in Australia. Bonus miles promotion is only valid for bookings made between 17 July and 10 August 2014 for travel between 1 September and 15 December 2014. Bonus miles will be earned on all Etihad operated flights to any destination and Virgin Australia flights to Abu Dhabi. Bonus miles cannot be earned on Virgin Australia domestic flights. The bonus miles earned will depend on the destination booked. The journey should originate from Australia itself. Bonus miles will be offered only for those guest members who have registered their Etihad Guest membership number on the landing page mentioned above. This offer is not valid on Virgin Australia flights to Los Angeles. The bonus miles will not be offered on any other code share flights and redemption flights. Members are required to pay for taxes and surcharges when using a redemption seat. The bonus miles earned will be Etihad Guest Miles and not Tier Miles. The bonus miles will be credited within three weeks after the promotion ends. This promotion is not valid for SuperSeller members.

This promotion is valid for bookings between 17 July and 10 August for travel between 1 September until 15 December 2014.

Got the same email. Looked good until I read "Flights must originate from Australia itself".

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I don't seem to get these emails from them. I wonder why.

Interesting - the offer doesn't seem to be targeted, except for the fact that it's only available to residents of Aus. You don't have an Irish address registered with EY by any chance? And sorry for asking the obvious, but are you registered to receive promotional emails from them?

Definitely an Oz address.

And they send me other Etihad Guest stuff just about daily, especially about the Guest Shop (which I thought was a waste, but now realise it's probably the only way I'll be able to spend my BusinessConnect points, as they'll never be enough to do anything else with).

Hi Guys, I have a fairly complicated question. My goal is get some Etihad miles so that I can upgrade flights sometimes - (Real flaw that that you can't upgrade with Etihad using Velocity points)
I am a Velocity Platinum and my wife is a Velocity and Etihad Gold (She does not fly much but I get enough SC to give her VA Gold and she managed to Status Match to Etihad)
He is my question if I family pool my Etihad account with my wife and start using my Etihad Guest number with Virgin would we get her 50% bonus and the above promotion??

Any help would be great!

Is it just me or does anyone else see this example as underwhelming lol ?
Fly F from SYD to LHR and earn enough to fly between ADL and SYD in J ?
Perhaps just a poor example.

Its not a bad example at all.

it actually says 2 return J SYD ADL
but 163k is more than a one way J SYD to LHR or a F one way f points plus a bit of cash.
so definitely a great deal. unfortunately travel had to originate in Australia so no good for me.
