Jetstar has announced that it will cease operating direct services between Brisbane and Hamilton Island with the last flight operating on 20th October 2014.



Customers' bookings will be progressively updated to reflect the cancellation of these services and be confirmed to alternative services on Qantas or Jetstar.

The following options are available to Qantas customers holding a valid ticket issued on/before 19th June 2014 for travel on/after 21st October 2014.



For customers holding a Qantas (081) issued ticket:



Passengers may, without fee:


Reroute/Rebook travel
Reroute to travel between Brisbane and Hamilton Island vv on Qantas flights via Sydney with 'QF' flight number operated by Qantas or Jetstar.

Change Destinations
The value of the existing ticket can be used towards the purchase of a new ticket. If the new fare is more expensive than the existing ticketed fare, the fare difference is payable by the passenger.
Applicable surcharges, fees and taxes may apply.

Retain the value of the ticket in credit
Retain the value of the ticket in credit for future travel within 12 months from the original ticketed date of departure. If the new fare is more expensive than the existing ticketed fare, the fare difference is payable by the passenger. Applicable ticket surcharges, fees and taxes may apply.



Conditions
All changes must be made prior to the original ticketed departure.
New travel dates must be within ticket validity.
If the same booking class is not available, the lowest booking class within same cabin may be booked. (eg. within Business or Economy cabin)
Qantas will not be responsible for paying any other costs or expenses such as hotel or other ground operator fees arising due to events beyond our control, unless required by applicable laws.
All other rules and conditions of the ticket remain unchanged.
Customers are permitted to make changes as outlined in this policy. Any subsequent changes made after the ticket is reissued will be subject to the rules and conditions of the original ticketed fare purchased.




For customers holding a ticket issued by another carrier (non-081):



Passengers may, without fee:
Reroute/Rebook travel
Reroute to travel between Brisbane and Hamilton Island vv on Qantas flights via Sydney with 'QF'
flight number operated by Qantas or Jetstar.



If the same booking class is not available, the lowest booking class within same cabin may be booked. (eg. within Business or Economy cabin)


For customers with unticketed bookings:

For unticketed bookings, alternate flights/routings can be rebooked subject to availability and tickets issued in accordance with fare conditions.

For customers on Frequent Flyer Award Tickets:

Passengers who are travelling on Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Award tickets are entitled to the same options and conditions as listed above.

Passengers who are travelling on Qantas & Partner Classic Award tickets are entitled to the same options and conditions as listed above provided any travel rebooked or rerouted is made on an eligible Qantas Frequent Flyer Partner Airline and any travel booked on a partner airline is subject to award seat availability. Classic Award tickets cannot be retained in credit.




Trade Information

Ticket Reissue:

All Qantas flight changes will need to be actioned (re-issued or revalidated) prior to travel, regardless of which airline the ticket is validated to.

Re-route/Re-book travel
The agent can reissue the ticket in-house if validated to Qantas (081)
Ticket to be reissued with no additional collection or refund.
Additional fare, ticket taxes and change fees associated to the ticket do not apply
All details of the original ticket to be shown on the new ticket including fare basis and fare calculation
Authority number “590940” must be entered into the tour code box
For Nett, APOSD and Private fares tickets, move the existing data from the tour code box to the
endorsement box
Net remit tickets will not require the NR indicator.
For tickets validated to another carrier, please contact the Qantas Industry Centre for ticketing.



Change Destinations/Ticket in credit
The Agent can reissue the ticket in-house if validated to Qantas (081)
Additional fare and ticket taxes may apply subject to assessment of the new journey
If the new fare is more expensive than the existing ticketed fare, the fare difference is payable by the passenger. Applicable ticket taxes apply.
Authority number “590940” must be entered into the tour code box to waive the fee for voluntary
