What the best seat(s) to choose in First class on A380?

I was in 1A, 5K and 2A in April. Would never select 1A again as I found in difficult to sleep due to the noise from the toilet especially when the toilet seat dropped down. I would expect that 1K would be similar?

I've sat in 6 of the 14.....1A and 1K are the worse IMO. Have bookings for another 4 in the pipeline.....slowly working my way through them all.

It's a good job we are all different :)
I absolutely love the A side and 1A in particular. Never had a bad sleep there.

To my knowledge..the toilets lids are 'soft closing'. (happy to be corrected).. maybe the 'sound' was due to something else

I'm with you Fiona - A is for the A-team, for several reasons. I'm in 1A tomorrow on QF1 and 5A next month. I've always enjoyed 5A with its little extra shelf, so I'll report back then on any noise in 1A.

My wife had 1A for 1 leg and also commented on the nosie from people using the toilet.

Is the bathroom big enough for two?

Can you take a photo of the shelf? Or is that for the bassinet...?

I'm glad you're on QF1 tomorrow - else we'd be double bunking in 1A (QF93).

I found the toilet and coat cupboard a little bit irksome when I was in 1K. I wouldn't rush to choose row 1 again because of that. I'm not saying 1K is a bad seat though. It's a million times better than a seat in Y.

3A was fine (best when the pax in the F seats put up their privacy screens, otherwise it feels a bit exposed) and also 4F was fine. I didn't notice any extra foot traffic past the F seat compared to the A seat, and I was too far away from the windows in A or K seats to be able to see out. You're facing away from the direction of the foot traffic anyway. The F seats don't have their own overhead bins, not that it really matters as you can stow stuff under your foot stool. I wouldn't mind F again but probably I would pick 2A or 3A if I had the choice.

I would possibly steer clear of 4A in case there is a baby in 5A - there was one in 5A when I was in 3A but I didn't hear much noise from it, just a little bit.

I found 2A to be quite private when the F seat privacy screen was up. That is the only seat I have had experience with so can't add anything further to the discussion.

I usually opt for anywhere 2A-4A. My favourite is 3A. Not too close to the lav and not too close to the galley. I find that at 4A you start to notice a lot of eyes looking at you from Y when the curtain is open.

The quietest and most private seat is 3A, flowed by 2A then 4A. When we are travelling with our daughter, we usually book 2a, 3A and 4A.
1A is the noisiest - not so much the toilet (which can sometimes smell) but the coat cupboard door which has a poorly designed noisy mechanism.
The F and K seats IMO are suboptimal as you do not end up sitting next to your partner anyway, and there is more human traffic / trolleys in the isle.
I have a few more Qantas A380 F flights booked till May 2015, then I am trying Singapore Airlines A380 Suites to compare.

We go 3A and 4A or 3f and 4F on SQ Suites. Row three is the Krug spot.
We have 3A and 4A booked for a flight back from LHR, my only worry is that bassinet in 5A. Has anyone ever had a problem with this?

2A and 3A are my first choices. If not available I'll take 2K. Was forced to pick 4A once and it was fine. Avoid row 1 and 5 and you will be fine.

+1

My thought too

Lucky so far, no K as yet (2,3,4,5A)

Picked 2A with cabin fully empty for me to choose

1A seems always on the receiving end of a glance from pax returning from the loo
