Just thought I'd create a thread for this - looking back over the last year, I thought I'd done a thread here as well as on Priority Club.

Status: Diamond
Property: Conrad Singapore
Rate: SGD 323 ++ Senior AAA Rate
Normal weekday (Sunday to Thursday) rate of SGD 370 ++ waived so same rate for Sat, Sunday and Monday
Dates 24-27 May
Booked: King Conrad Guestroom
Received: Executive Floor King

All the usual accolades that this Hotel gets on this site are well deserved. Quick, efficient front desk check-in. All the benifits explained as I have never been to this property before. Accompanied to the room and had it explained. Same explanation when the bags arrives. Water, Fruit, chocolates and, of course the Conrad bear and duck!

The Sunday morning scrambled eggs in the EL were very ordinary but the afternoon, evening drinks and the rest of the breakfast selections were excellent. Will try breakfast by the pool tomorrow.

really think you'll enjoy the pool area. great coughtails (maybe not for breakfast). service a tiny bit slow but when you're laying back and relaxing, after a hard day of tourist business, so what:):)

Property: DoubleTree Alice Springs
Date: 23-25 May
Status: Diamond
Rate: $120 per night
Booked: Double double room
Received: Double double mountain view room

When I arrived there was a long queue of HH wannabes. ;) The manager served me personally, so I did not have to wait long. Straitman has a photo of the experience!

A welcome note from the GM, three bottles of water and a bowl of fruit in the room.

A great breakfast, cooked to order. $5 for a barista coffee which I skipped on the first day, but succumbed on the second. :(

I would be very happy staying here again.

Property: Hilton South Wharf
Date: Saturday 24 May
Status: Gold
Rate: $242 AAA rate
Booked: King Hilton Guestroom
Received: Executive King Guestroom

Another nice stay at HSW.
Originally booked a lower rate at HOTP (as rates high at HSW), but checked later in the week and a lower rate offered, so cancelled and re-booked.
Nice room on 17th floor with view up the Yarra, and enjoyed the Exec lounge for evening drinks. Breakfasted at Nuevo37, (no mention of any extra charge for hot food - a la Brisbane) but $4 for a
coffee.
Enjoyed the stay, and the friendly staff.

I was at HSW for the last two nights.
Booked a Relaxation Suite so not upgraded. Checked in at the Exec lounge. Water in room, no letter or other Diamond amenity.
Overall a pleasant stay, the only negative being the $4 charge for my latte at breakfast yesterday in Nuevo37. We had brekkie in the Exec Lounge this morning for comparison and there was none so my advice is to head downstairs if you have time.

Is that the joint with the fantastic Thai restaurant ?

... at which point I was told to not worry about it as I'm gold ... this leads me to think that status holders are being incorrectly informed about the supposed 'lounge only' breakfast

Perhaps being informed correctly but not being fully appraised of any further "blind eye" activities is a more correct statement. The restaurant breakfast is one treat that I will not complain in hotel about as it's not our entitlement. At BNE, I've had as many as 6 for full breakfast and although I did mention at checkout that they hadn't included the extra breakfasts on the bill, I was told not to worry about it. Yet at one other time, an officious lady manning the till in the restaurant told me breakfast was for me only and my wife and daughter would be charged. I didn't argue, but pointed out I was diamond with breakfast for two at least, but she didn't appear to get the message. The breakfast was not charged. So in a nutshell, who knows, but what I do know is that it's over and above what I'm entitled to by status and with that, I am always prepared to pay for additional breakfasts or full breakfast upgrade if asked (although I may also decline the upgrade so I would expect to be informed clearly, early on in the stay like they did at Taupo).

Haven't I read recently where they discount the rate by the difference between that booked and the next room type down? Seems a bit ordinary to be able to book the cheapest room and possibly get the dearest yet book a dear room and get nothing but a bill for latte! :(

Seems like a good rate you scored there! Shame about the coffee price for a diamond. I wish the rest of the Hiltons would adopt the HSP disposition of not charging status members.

I think I recall markis10 saying that the NT and CNS Hiltons all have the same. I'm not a huge fan of the CNS one, but it's acceptable, but we did really enjoy their Japanese style lunch box....well worth the money!

Yep, and Jimmy Shu the chef behind them now has an outlet at DRW airprot called Bumbu, which has an Indonesian style as it's focus.

Property: Doubletree Alice Springs
Date: Friday 23 & Saturday 24 May
Status: Diamond
Rate: $189 per night - I'm not sure of rate plan
Booked: Junior Suite
Received: Premier King Suite (Room 351)

Considering the number of Diamonds who had checked in on Thursday night, didn't expect an upgrade, so very welcome surprise. DT cookie received, water bottles x 2 both nights and a generic (non-personalised) letter with fruit bowl.

Fantastic room on top floor (3rd), which comfortably held 30+ people for after dinner drinks both nights in the Lounge Room. Looks out onto corner of golf course and mountain ridge.

Hanuman Restaurant had delightful meal for 38 pax booked Sat night and service was good considering it was full - a little slow to get starters out but the whole meal was delicious. (Pics to follow)

Property is spread out and inviting outdoor pool with bar - alas, no time to enjoy.

Nice Lounge Bar (Deck Bar) and competent serving staff.

Breakfast was probably the let down. Very perfunctory cereal, fruit, Bain Marie's with hot options - akin to an Exec Floor Lounge. As our group left earlier than breakfast opening on Sunday AM, they gave us a cardboard lunch box with apple, muesli bar, OJ ++ (can't recall additional items).

Would definitely return to this property if in ASP again

Thanks for hosting us in your suite on Friday and Saturday night - lots of fun!
The breakfast box also included a little pack of Jatz bikkies (odd) and a ham and cheese croissant.
And don't forget about the coffee in the leaky takeaway cups .

Of course, the missing pieces to the breakfast box puzzle.

I don't drink coffee so I didn't have that problem - I had already drunk a cup of tea in our room
