Yes, I know the answer. It's a rhetorical question.

But what prompted me to ask is that my 2.1 yr old (25months) took his 50th RPT flight yesterday:!::shock::cool: Raise your bat for your half century little fella!

What that rather pointless stat indicates to me however, is that wages, lifestyle and travel opportunites available to the (mostly) average Australian are pretty good and that you should never believe that having a child limits your travel possibilities.

Pity he's not going to remember any of it...

You are so right, my kids have done more travel at age 3 than I had done by age 20. We are very lucky compared to previous generations.

We've found though that kids have limited our travel in terms of long flights, we haven't been able to work up the courage to do 24 hour flights with 2 young kids yet though. I'm hoping by about 4 or 5 they will be much more manageable and at least partially able to be reasoned with:)

I did get taken on some long flights as a very young child. I'm pretty sure a couple of my first memories are of ORD.

I think the answer to your question is when its no longer fun, then you know you have done too much.

By the time my 1st daughter was 1.1 months she had been on 21 flights. More than some people had done in their whole life.

#2 baby was baking so travel stopped until #2 was 2 months and went on her first flight.

I love giving my kids the opportunity to travel as I got to travel heaps when I was little too and surprisingly I actually remember a few things :)

Too much travel is when you are exhausted and you are only through the 2nd flight and have 5 more flights to go in <24 hours.

Took the words right out of my mouth...

Whilst travel with family is a bit more difficult with kids, it's hardly an impossible feat, even long haul...

My little guy has racked up plenty in his first 3 years. Our favourite day trip is CBR - SYD, onto the airport train to central then a bus to anywhere really before heading back to the airport by train again. Loves his transport.

Too much travel is when you get bored of it or you get bored of why you are doing it. I should know because I travel 100% of the time, I transfer weekly and have had one trip home in 5 months.
