I'm a Gold member.

Rate: Met Package (birthday present for Mrs LW, included 2 buffet breakfasts at Atrium Cafe & 2 tickets to Qld Art Gallery for Impressionists Showing from Metropolitan Museum New York - to get some culture)

Got some more travel to do to Melbourne this Friday, so hoping to fly down Thursday night to sample the new Hilton.

Painless checkin, soy in the fridge, lounge up to its usual standard, with an attendant I had not met before.

Breakfast was also as good as usual, and when I ordered my coffee there was no hint of a charge - during service or when checking out. Well done HotP!

The question is, who is going to be the first to get the William Clarke Suite???

Imagine how many people you could fit in that bathtub!

Oh I have heard of the William Clarke Suite. It was the bathtub comment I was pleading ignorance to.

Unfortunately not. But the service was amazing.

Still in Foshan but back at my apartment, went to the Hilton to get a workout in, some western breakfast and reliable wifi!

Mr jojen & I will be staying at Conrad Macau in a couple of weeks. When we stayed last year the executive lounge was closed for refurbishing.

Has the lounge reopened or is this the lounge on the ground floor ?

We really enjoyed our stay here and found the service to be really AMAZING.

I was under the impression the EL had been moved permanently to the Lobby as the existing EL was repurposed as a High Rollers gaming room.

We used the Lobby Lounge when staying late last year.

Naming of that suite is fairly recent I think.

I have never stayed in it, but that apartment often came up as a (paid) "custom upgrade" (NOR1?) on past bookings. Often around the $1200 mark. Maybe less.

It was the lounge in the lobby. (I didn't know there was another one). I meant to add earlier that the check in was excellent, met by the Customer services Manager and made very welcome.

Thank you for that. Last year only gold ,and although we had booked a club room, they would not give us any extra benefits to make up for the loss of lounge access due to closure of the old one. We did however receive an upgrade to a 160 sq m suite !!!! It was AMAZING.

Diamond this year so looking forward to the afternoon tea and coughtails in the evening. I could quite easily not have moved out of the hotel, but we did and really enjoyed the sights and wandering around the old town. Had a few strange looks from locals wondering what westerners were doing in their area !!!
After Macau we are off to the Conrad Hong Kong before coming home.

Last on a 155 dollar govt rate

HSW currently booked 2 br suite , have 4 exec lounge access and 4 downstairs breakfasts per day ( haven't got the bill yet though)

Just checked into Hampton Inn at San Opisbo CA, It's Memorial Day weekend here so it's full.


There is free Internet but it's throttled. You have to pay extra for fast Internet. As the woman on the front desk said you'll need it if you want to download movies etc.

After reading this, I was thinking "who downloads movies when their on holiday"? Then I remembered when we were in Rome last year and came home from a tour of the Collosseum and I was talking to Jnr about the film Gladiator and the parts in the film where you could relate to what we had just seen and she said she'd never seen the film. Of course, then we had to download it. Internet was so slow, it said it was going to take something like 10 hours. Gave up.

Received: executive twin (paid $10++ as a custom upgrade

Not sure if I did myself out of a free upgrade or not by selecting the $10 custom upgrade when booking.

Hotel is dated but clean and tidy. Located right on the Nile. Security is very tight which is appreciated (lots of questions about what was what in my bags). Staff are so-so. Lounge checkin was very friendly and helpful. "Hired goons" have a bit of an attitude, but I guess they're not here for service.

Probably not a bad option for Cairo

The issues of getting here from T5 for an overnighter between flights seem complex. We got the Hoppa which was 8 quid return for the 1 mile trip. Waiting for it for half an hour was a pain but that was all forgotten at the hotel. We were upgraded to an Executive King which was spacious, comfortable and with a great view of planes passing just above eye level seemingly just outside the window. Indian dinner at Mr Todiwali's was superb but not cheap. Half a bottle of cab sav and a chocolate were the HHD recognition. CEL reminded me of Adelaide but with better food. Could almost eat dinner there. Breakfast in the lounge was above usual Hilton standards with some great hot items including eggs cooked to order. Very good internet. Trip back to the airport this morning was a lot easier. All up, very good airport hotel and would happily use it again.

First stay in Brisbane as a Diamond. We checked in late, and had been upgraded to Exec King. We received a welcome letter explaining benefits of the Exec floors, which mentioned breakfast downstairs had a $10 additional fee.

We thought we'd try it out even with the $10 fee, but as Diamond, full buffet breakfast was complementary for two. Bonus!

The lounge staff were great, but we weren't there for any of the meal times so can't comment on afternoon tea/canapes/drinks.
