When I heard this, I thought why are planes surfaces not disinfected or sprayed with 70% ethanol.

Don’t touch that armrest! That was the bad news for airplane travelers today as researchers released results showing that some of the deadliest germs can live for up to a week on airplane seats, tray tables, armrests, and other surfaces.

They are living in abundant quantities in hospitals, on keyboards, but toilets it has been shown are relatively clean .... In fact anywhere there are lots of humans

Space is safe unless ( bacteria wise) unless you plan to eat meteorites ...
The pun is the relative lack of space in economy....

It's true, toilet seats are often not as bad as the taps and door handles. I often wonder why anyone would pick up a bar of soap in a toilet when it would be covered in E.coli. And people with faecal contamination turn on the tap to wash their hands, covering the tap in bacteria, wash their hands and then touch the same filthy tap to turn it off again!
Infrared taps and toilets at airports with no doors are so much safer

meh, germs. I'm sure i've put worse in my mouth.

That's because you were born in the space age......sic!

Wasnt there a recent study which suggested toilet seats were less likely to harbour E.coli than your average bench top?

I have had some infections over the years that did not make sense. Still don't make sense.

I must be nearing the point where I am immune from all bacteria.
