Just wondering if anyone know how many status credits I'll earn for a flight from LAX to LAS, in First, operated by AA (booked thru Qantas of course)? I assume that eco will rake in 10 SC similar to SYD-BNE but wondering if the SC is doubled to 20 if flying First? Just trying to work out if it's worth spending $100 extra for the additional SC...

Thanks

Qantas website should be about to tell you.
Search for status credits and partner airlines.

I know that LAX - DEN on AA first (which is a misnomer as it's worse than QF Dom J) is worth 90 SC one way

Depends when.

LAX-LAS is 236m.

In First -
Presently earns 60 SCs (in the 0-600m category) -- note this is triple a full economy fare (eg SYD-BNE in Business earns 40 SCs)
Post 1-July it will earn 40 SCs (in the Intra USA shorthall up to 750m category)

LAX-DEN however would remain at 90 SCs

It's no so much who you booked through (QF vs AA) but how.

IIRC if you book "J" on a QF codeshare or marketed flight LAX/LAS but sit in the F cabin on an AA metal flight you only get J status credits.

Were your flights LAX $ LAS vv booked as "QF" or "AA"?

My points posted as follows for flights I booked via the AA US website.

AA 1014 DISCOUNT ECONOMY 23APR14
LAS VEGAS/LOS ANGELES

59 base points
59 status bonus
500# total points
10 status credits

AA 952 FIRST
22APR14
LOS ANGELES/LAS VEGAS

236 base points
118 cabin bonus
236 status bonus
590 total points
60 status credits

Correct

AA F only earns J rate if booked through Qantas.

I always book my AA flights from AA.com to get F SC rates.
