hey guys,

I am going to be on JQ 35 from Syd to Mel departing from the international terminal.

My question is, and if anyone has done it before, Am i allowed to purchase duty free when I arrive into Melbourne before immigration?

No you cannot.

Also, make sure you don't throw away or damage your BP after boarding, as you'll need it to re-clear immigration in MEL.

You need an international BP, the only perk of going to the international terminals on DOM flights is if you have status and can get into the lounges.

Practically, you can buy duty free in Syd as they don't ask to see your BP but instead just ask which flight you are on....however, if you get caught by customs in Mel, that is a different story....so I wouldn't risk it!!

The Hendricks may be cheaper, but there's no way they'll let you bring a cucumber into the country  !!

They're meant to sight the BP. The last time I bought something duty free (last year) out of SYD they wanted it. I was on VA1, but they still demanded to actually sight the BP.

YMMV though (if it's busy, they probably rush it).
