In the interest of maintaining a happy household - we've (read SWMBO) has taken advantage of this special & booked the 4 of us to SIN for Easter.

After the shock left my body, it doesn't seem that bad of a deal. BNE-SYD-SIN......SIN-SYD-BNE for 3 adults (son turns 12 - 3 weeks before we depart:(,) & 1 child for a total of $4039.28.

I've now got the Herculean task of trying to work out the best whY seats for 4 in the old version A380 & 744......it's been awhile! Any advice will happily be accepted.

Can you believe that QF want us to wait 5+ hrs in SYD for the SIN leg;) Something tells me that this will be the best flight out of the four:!:

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

re 747...i'd go for 2pairs of the last 4-5ROWS A/B OR J/K ..ideally rows 69-70 reconfig..or 70-71 older config..gives you 'extra' side space for 'junk'!! options to 'shuffle' between 2 rows..and option of two sets of window seats!! which with 2 kids can lead to pleasing both!! ;)... check QF.com seatmaps to get a picture of what i mean :D ...hope that's of some help!! happy travels :p

There's down the back......and really down the back:shock:;)

QF1 over is an old A380 as no row 48/49 - currently sitting in row 55 GDEF as all bulk heads are gone:(

QF6 back is re-furb 747 - currently sitting in row 38 DGEF....not sure if I'm taking a risk with a bulkhead & bassinet coming into play!

under the radar would you still go for the pair over front row bulkhead? Kids always get a window seat & they either stare at a screen or fall asleep.......Isn't the ride down the back back a little more fluid?

Also booked SIN for Easter, and managed without thinking to book the last QF10 ex SIN ( and the last QF A380 out of SIN).Thanks also to a reminder in another thread that these bookings should be made with a glass of Irish whiskey in hand, saved $300 each on the two I made! :).

Made a booking (SYD - BKK ) for my friend while drinking English tea...turned out to be $10 cheaper than Irish Whiskey. Quite unusual since English tea is usually a little more expensive.

just saw your post 'amaroo'....row 38 DEFG is the secondlast row on a REFURB in the P/E (premium economy) cabin.. MAYBE QF is utilizing the P/E cabin seats for Y/C passengers (hence bigger seats..but still Y/C service) :D ... OR you have been upgraded to P/E (with P/E service) :D :D ...EITHER WAY YOUR GETTING THE LARGER P/E SEATS!!!

:( Then I'm not on a re-furb bird....my bad.

Row 38 is definitely bulkhead with Bassinet.....just gotta hope no babies! Still tossing up your pair call - buggered if I know which is the better one:confused:

personally...i wouldnt chance the bulkhead/2 bassinets with 4 of you..if QF need 1 bassinet..then at the very least 1 of you may be 'relocated'..but 2 of you being the more likely (depends if infant is with 1 or 2 adults)..and if 2 bassinets needed then 3 or 4 of you will be relocated... in ANY senario that any or all of you will be moved..your chances of being relocated together may be very slim (depending on how fully booked the aircraft is)... so i'd still go for 2pairs down the back ..with preference for the very first pair (row70 NON refurb) and row71 :D ..oh and i forgot to mention the motion of the aircraft down the back isnt a 'deal breaker' for me!! especially if kids are 'plastered' to the AVOD!! :D and light aircraft movement during rest/sleep is quite therapeutic :) ..heavy aircraft movement will be felt ANYWHERE on the aircraft!!

Didn't bother booking my flights last night and the price hasn't changed today anyway, though its possible that's a different sale...

There appears to be a cheaper sale now.

Not that it matters to me as I am booking ex-SIN where the latest sale goes until 28 January and seasonality does not enter the equation. ;)

I was looking at booking a trip MEL-SIN and my mate recommended trying skyscanner. I haven't used it before.. it turned up Qantas fares in May for ~$650 return per person (QF35 / QF36) via an online agent called edreams. Seems a bit good to be true as Qantas fares booked directly are $799 on sale. Has anyone used edreams? Positive / negative experiences?

Do a site search using edreams as the phrase, you will get results like:

By the way sky scanner does not cover some of the cheaper options, like UK major operators !
