Hi all,
i recently gained my complimentary Marco Polo Gold Card via the Amex Plat.

I also just flew to SYD domestically and entered the Qantas Club after waiving the Card and my Boarding pass.

But I was just reading up on the Oneworld site and noted:

Sapphire tier frequent flyers are welcome in Business Class* or frequent flyer lounges. (*does not include Qantas Domestic Business Lounges)

So just to clarify for domestic lounges as it it infers, rather than says, that Sapphire gets you into the Domestic Qantas Club, but not the Business Lounge?

internationally you gain entry to Business Lounges.

You get access to the QP is the easiest way of reading it, given the QP is the business lounge post customs formalities in the international terminals where one exists.

For Qantas domestic,
Qantas Club = base lounge = oneworld Sapphire and paid members
Business Lounge = oneworld Emerald and Domestic Business customers

For Qantas international,
Qantas International Business = base lounge = oneworld Sapphire, International Business customers and paid members
Qantas International First = oneworld Emerald and International First customers

Are the domestic business lounges say in SYD,MEL and BNE for QF a lot better than the QP's in those airports?

Melbourne does come with its own entertainment from time to time, be it a fire or glass explosion! :)

BNE has a better view, but the food offering seems more similar and replenished from a shared kitchen ((albeit this is also done in MEL)

It's interesting that "*does not include Qantas Domestic Business Lounges)" bit appearrs to have been added recently.

The following has been there some time but was specific to QFF Sapphires (SG) only:
The following exceptions apply:

  1. American Airlines and Qantas offer programmes enabling travellers to pay to gain access to their lounges. These programmes are not part of the oneworld agreement, and members of these programmes are not entitled to access lounges under the oneworld agreement.
  2. American Airlines AAdvantage® members, regardless of their tier status or class of travel, cannot access lounges when travelling solely on North American itineraries within or between the U.S., Canada, Mexico (except Mexico City), the Bahamas, Bermuda and the Caribbean. For more information, visit, Admirals Club Lounge | Airline Clubs & Lounges | American Airlines
  3. Qantas Frequent Flyer Gold members cannot access Qantas Domestic Business Lounges.
