New Delta lounge opens in SeaTac

I just happened to be flying SEA-LAX today and was lucky enough to be there for the opening of the new Delta lounge. Very fancy by US standards. Really good seating layout and nice food (at breakfast anyway). Massages, celebrity chef, local artist signing works, coffee tastings, free Seattle chocolates... I'm very impressed.

I've taken photos but too hard to post from the phone. Will do on my return to Australia in a few days.

Anyway just thought I'd post about my good fortune. Delta flying is paying off for me.

Back home now and have cut the photos down to size so I can post them. The article above steals a little of my thunder but I did get some food pics!

Out to the tarmac - note seating upstairs - didn't get up there.

The bar/food service.

The marble rye (just had to have it as a Seinfeld fan).

Individual seating - better than the usual four lounge chairs in a group with one person hogging all four.

The free choccies (probably only available on launch day, sorry!)

The comfort shop - to the right is the massage and meditation area.

The chef's food. Local oysters and that green seaweed stuff?

Dungeness crab and big prawns.

Unfortunately I couldn't enjoy it long enough as I had to race to my flight!

This is really international standard and I hope they can raise the bar over there for the rest.

Can anyone confirm my eligibility. If travelling SEA-LAX in F class but no status with any airline associated with Delta (i.e Delta themselves or Virgin) am I able to access the lounge in SEA. I have looked on Delta website and it looks like non status people must be travelling to or onwards in a premium cabin to get access. Sounds like travellers who are like me, just domestic, cant enter. Am I reading this correct ??

Supplementary card holder should gain access OK but there's no guest entitlement unless you pay.

Found that out at LAX T5 on Sun as DL wanted USD59.00 for the guest as only the cardholder is free - with DL anyway. VA allow Amex Plat charge members at least one guest foc. Centurion lounges allow the cardholder plus 2 guests.

Tried asking DL if the AZ Freccia Italia Skyteam elite membership would allow access but not for domestic only - must gave a samd day international connection.

Have managed to find a flight with suitable times for me with Alaska. LAX-SEA-LAX. Wouldn't have really worried me but on the return leg but have an airport wait of around 4 hours. Alaska allow access to their "Board Room" lounge. After discovering J and F class a few years ago I couldn't sit out in the general concourse area with all those common people LOL (joking, don't shoot me)
