Keen on second opinions as I'm finding it had to decide which way to go. Needing to book a direct ticket for 5 people, PER>DPS return. TT has no flights on our departure date and I can't seem to book one way ex DPS.

PER-DPS

For QZ: Departure 1120 means 3pm instead of 5pm arrival. No price match needed.
For JQ: would get lounge access using QF SG and a few passes for the +3s. Would price match to QZ at $181. Better safety record.

DPS-PER
Lounge access null and void due to no Veloce.
For QZ: Better departure (1355 or 1530) instead of 0850 or 1820. $129. More time to drive the one hour trip to airport.
For JQ: Cheaper 0850 departure of at $116. Would be able to do plus bundle. Better safety record. Could pricematch the 1820 departure but then not get SCs.

In my opinion flying on a JQ flight on a VH registered aircraft with an Aussie tech crew...... over Indonesia Air Asia the choice is very clear.... JQ every time.

QZ? - nope. QZ8501 and the recent navigational mistake and subsequent stuffup infight says it all.

JQ has some foreign based cabin crew as well.

That's like asking if you'd prefer a poke in the eye or a kick in happy doodles. So, I don't know.....JQ? At least you can lager up in the lounge beforehand.

Have you considered Garuda? In terms of comfort and food, miles ahead of either of the other options.

I wouldn't touch Air Asia though. I quite like living.

We came back on JQ to Perth rather than direct back to ADL because of the day flight which was quite pleasant. I'd go with JQ.

Funny you make that comment - not too long ago many people would say the same about Garuda.

Thanks everyone for feedback. I think this has cemented it for JQ for me and on talking with the other 4 pax, they too also like living.

Yes, that is very true. We flew on them probably during that period in business class and they were great. Sadly, not into Adelaide anymore.

Difference is Garuda have lifted their game and made serious improvements. When they fell into the latter category and were banned from EU airspace I wouldn't have flown with them.

+1for Garuda.

A330 is much nicer and more comfortable than the Jetstar A320

At random dates in March its $400 return on Jetstar # vs $450 return on Garuda - so basically for $50 extra for a civilized flight time both ways and a better Y class seat - I know which way I'd be going - understand you may be locked into specific dates by the number of passengers though .:)

# and thats possibly without all the extra JQ seat selection, meals and baggage fees etc etc
