Dr.ron needs a new dinner suit ( he doesnt think so- but he is going to get one !!)

We will be in Bangkok staying at the SGS in May so can anyone recommend a good tailor please ?? :D thanks

Sorry mrs.dr.ron, I can't help with recommendations on a good tailor in Bangkok but do take note the shop fronts are only shop fronts and usually send their orders off-site.

I've always been happy with "Toms International Collection", been there a few times now over the past 10-12 years..

Prices are not the cheapest but I have been happy with the things they have made, have spent between 4000-5000 in that time I would guess

Cheers

I recently used Nickermann's in the basement of the Landmark hotel on Sukhumvit Rd.
Very happy with the result - especially the business shirts.

I have been very happy at Excelsior tailor in Bangkok. You should check them out. Located opposite the Le Meredien Bangkok near the infamous Patpong Market.
I paid 20,000 Bht for 2 suits 1 tuxedo and the quality was very good.

Been a while since I bought there, but know what quality you want and what you should pay would be good advice. Get a cutting of the fabric you chose to compare at first fitting. Don't pay everything up front.

Thai Baht is currently around 30 to the AUD.

Good luck!!

If in Bankok you can find this Tailor at the AMARI WATERGATE. Check web site for details.

Mike the Sales Manager, comes to Brisbane and other cities about every 4 months.
He brings cloth samples and style books. Very pleased with his work. The material I select is a Cashmere-wool that is very light.
A few months ago, I had a Sports jacket made out of a real good material (not sure what type). It cost me about $700 Au. That afternoon, as Mike had no more appointments, I took him to the Sheraton Mirage at the Gold Coast. His hawkeyes spotted a jacket hanging in an upmarket mens wear store that was made from the same material as I had just ordered with him. We went and checked it out. - price tag was $2999.

I suggest send him and email and ask for prices and the material types.
Last time he was here he brought some real high quality Italian material and a friend of mine had a suit made with this for his daughters wedding. Itr looked great on him.

I am a big fan of Tom's Fashion and the address is 19, Soi Preeda, Sukhumvit Soi 8, Bangkok 10110, Thailand

Thanks

Visited Rajawongse last weekend for a fitting, picked up an excellent quality suit, blazer and a couple of shirts, was only in BKK for 2 days, so opted for the Fed Ex delivery.

Highly recommend Jesse and Victor, retail is next to Nana BTS. Rajawongse Clothier - Dress For Success!

They are also talked about on Trip Advisor, Rajawongse Clothier Reviews - Bangkok, Thailand Attractions - TripAdvisor

Cheers

I've used Rajawongese a few times and confirm they are good. In the past they have only accepted cash. Raja Fasions and New Royal Fashions (Soi 11) are similar quality. One of the things I like about Rajawongese is their pricing is very transparent.

Needle King next to SGS( about 5 minutes walk from SGS -..ask the concierge) is a good one..used them plenty of times. make sure you bargain and go for the fitting session as thats when you can see how well the suit is cut and make any changes. They are open till 10:00 pm and also delivers it to the hotel incase you cant pick it up. You can even pay them after they have delivered in some cases.

As a rule I'm loathe to bargain about a service (in this case the tailoring process) as it's easy for the vendor to provide an inferior service for the bargained price.
