Pretty poor year for me, with no DONEx for the first time 13 years (but two in 2006 means my 1/year average sticks) - but at least the destinations were good. Making up for it in 2017 .

Last flight is 31/12....
90 segments
210,060 miles
SYD-BNE was most popular at 6 flights
32 airports, on 16 airlines, on 55 routes to 13 countries
And proud to report only 1 middle seat!

I use FlightMemory, but I haven't updated with this years trip yet. Is OpenFlights "better" then flightmemory?

99% of mine was personal and self funded. I had one official business trip, BNE-MEL return.

3 OS trips inc a weekend getaway with the Mrs
First visit to NY
Another RTW trip
First (and second) EK flight
First F flight
Made SG for the first time

All in all a pretty good year.

102 segments
164,613 miles

Airport records
NorthernmostOSL
SouthernmostMEL
WesternmostLHR
EasternmostJFK
PVG > HKG and PVG > HKG the most common with 7 flights.

23 new airports. 26 countries.

God knows how many random airlines.

5 more flights to go this year. And possibly a couple more on top of that depending on circumstances. I'll get stats up when they're flown :)

quiet year for me with 4 more flights to come

most popular routes SYD CHC and SYD AKL at 3 each (compared to the 9 return trips to each last year a serious drop)

We're self funded flyers so nothing as impressive as most here but we ticked Cambodia off our bucket list in 2016.

Otherwise we hit Singapore, Darwin, New Zealand and go to Perth on Friday (Ive never been to Perth before), all in J. Oh and DH did a sector run to Melbourne.

I will also say in the past 4 years I have done more travel to bucket list places than the 20yrs before that - partly due to this stupid status chase so there is a benefit to the chase. Slightly poorer in money, much happier in exploring.

Many thanks to the help from AFFers, you have padded my points balance during the year which makes 2017 and J flying possible.

Same, but current stats including those 5:
25 segments
84748 km
4 days 23:03

18 Airports
9 Carriers
10 Countries

Longest: DXB-MEL
Shortest: MEL-ADL

NorthernmostLHR
SouthernmostCHC
WesternmostORD
EasternmostWLG
Y: 16
J: 4
F: 5 (but 45% by distance)

Only 63 (51230 miles) for me this year (down from 93 in 2015)

All domestic this year.

57 on QF, successful on 27 of 31 upgrade requests
6 x Charter flights.

Well, 2016 has been my biggest year of flying in term of distance 284,566 km (177,854 miles), but not in number of flights (77 segments in 2016 vs. 83 in 2015).
New airports visited: PPT, CHC, SFO, PEK and MAN
New airlines: TN, DL (First DL flight in my life, a 50 minute domestic flight was 14 hours late...)

Almost all flights booked in Y, but I used 720,000 QF points to upgrade a few flights to J!

Almost all flights were on time, except the DL flight mentioned above.

Overall, I feel this was the perfect amount of flying :), not sure I need/want more...

We had a quiet year domestically in 2016, but racked up our 11th major overseas trip in 11 years, naturally all self funded. This year we visited several new airports in MAN, BUD & JTR, and all up we did 14 segments, for 26,749 miles and 2 days in the air. Of our 14 segments, 10 in J (including points upgrades) and 4 in Y (where no J available). This is the key stat for me, as if not for joining AFF probably all would have been in Y.

A quieter year than i would have liked. Two MEL-PER return trips and a visit to SIN and DPS, all in J except for MEL-SIN whichwas in F. Flew Virgin the business on the first PER trip and was quite impressed. Now if only i could convince the gentleman of a last minute OS jaunt!

Only one trip for me and mrsdoctau this year, but it started in March and it's still going! Backpacking with business flights :) I should probably write a Trip Report some time. OpenFlights

2016 has had 28 segments for 56876km of flights, all of the long-haul flights booked as J awards (with various airlines) and the short-haul in Y - by number it's 80% Y and 20% J, but by distance 30% Y and 70% J. The amount of flying in Y would have been less, except that the Australian government still had "Do Not Travel" warnings for much of Colombia despite not being that dangerous (hence our insurance wouldn't cover us to travel by road). This meant we booked some flights while they were on sale, and then the government lowered the travel warnings a week later.

There definitely wouldn't have been any flying in J if it wasn't for good advice and tips from AFF.

28 Airports in 12 countries, and the flights across 9 carriers. The best was definitely EY J MEL-AUH-GRU, but I expect that to be surpassed early next year when we fly SQ F LAX-ICN-SIN - unfortunately they changed the planes servicing LAX so we don't get the Suites on an A380. There probably won't be much else happening next year; once we're home we'll need to work on replenishing our FF balances (and money).

2016 was a new record for me with 88 segments flown mostly due to work flights. Some new airlines for me including QR, IB, XY (Never ever again), NZ, J2, WY, 9W, PG and UL.

Distance: 215,335km
Longest: DXB-MEL
Shortest: BLR-MAA

Northernmost: VAA
Southernmost: HBA
Westernmost: AGP (at a princely 4°29'57"W)
Easternmost: WLG

All in Y and with only 1 middle seat.

With 2017 comes a new job and no more international travel so i expect this year will remain my peak for the foreseeable future.

Safe travels

Not as much flying as some of you road warriers here but still flew 97,460 miles over 12 airlines visiting 15 countries; 43% of flights were in J or F :) and most importantly added 3 new countries (Portugal, Croatia, Hungary) in my quest to visit 100 countries :p

One more hop down to MEL tomorrow and that should be me for the year.

Biggest flying year so far for me, making WP for the first time.

89 segments taking me 148,245km / 92,115 miles.

60 of those segments were the SYD-MEL shuttle, and 62 flights were on QF metal.

75 sectors were in Y, 11 in J and 3 in F...but 34% by distance in J, 9.5% in F and 56% in Y.

24% for Leisure and 76% for Work.
