I wonder if this is an unintended result of the the VA-QR and VA-AC partnerships.

I think that this is still useful thread for those bookings made exclusively through Aeroplan. For example, my question is

If I fly Virgin (operated by QR) and then connect to a TK flight, do you think they would check my bag all the way through? It would be an Aeroplan award all on one ticket. I can't seem to find how interlined work on wet leases. I can see VA and TK do not interline but QR and TK do.

Unfortunately I suspect the answer is no because VA market the flight and this will determine what connection I am comfortable with, or indeed whether a DOH connection to Europe on a Star Alliance carrier will still come in a 110k points in J
