WP Partner Gold-benefits??

I am currently sitting on 2080 SC's , YTD , with reassessment not until 31 December.
When I have travelled with my family I have had no issues getting 4 of us into a Domestic Business Lounge or the F Lounge for International flights.
I should naturally pass the 2100 barrier to get Partner Gold ( for the first time) but my wife rarely travels or has need to travel by herself.
So is Partner Gold , as a benefit, going to give me anything extra?
If I do not make WP in the future will a history of Partner Gold help with a WP comp for 12 months?
I have LTS but LTG is some way off.

'Partner' means a Member's spouse or domestic partner who resides at the same address as the Member;
'Partner Gold' means the complimentary Gold Frequent Flyer status level awarded to the Partner of a Platinum Member

It's fairly easy to get around, as long as you list them at your address, you can list almost anyone as your partner. (Secretary, sister, friend etc)
