Correct me if I'm wrong, but Travel insurance will not cover any cancellation or changes unless a "Do Not Travel" advice is given?
 
But if flying via SIN it will make no difference as they usually fly north of Iran which is the opposite side to the Gulf states.

Right now its still developing situation. The side holding a lot of cards still haven't said anything yet nor acted. Israel is still in the drivers and if they want to drag things on and drag in the US even more - who knows what will happen.

Exercise extreme caution is probably still the correct answer here and decide on your own risk appetite.
 
I'm stopping over in Doha in two weeks from Aus to Portugal - no idea what to do now! Keep us updated with how you go...
