worlds 10 most expensive hotels

Unlikely to be able to afford any of them any time soon!

Was thinking, they're not that $$$$ ... then I read the criteria.

The process used to devise the rankings narrowed down the definition of the word "hotel" to include only properties having at least 15 rooms located in a single building. As a result, villas, bungalows and safari camps were all excluded, even though they are sometimes deemed hotels according to other definitions of the term.

Zero for me.

I had breakfast at the Athénée once, and it certainly was expensive.

I stayed at Explora Rapa Nui on a trip to Easter Island a few years ago, but I sure as hell didn't pay that much for it. Surprised it ranked so highly on that list to be honest.

Seems Sardinia is a place to avoid if you don't wish to be separated from your lira!

Happy to pay in Lira ;)
In northern Sardinia around Costa Smeralda, the figures are in Lira but the currency is Euro! :)

Central and Southern Sardinia is more normal or cheap Italian prices. Great Cannonau reds and some fascinating 100% muristellus plus excellent local foods. Try the 'casu fràzigu' (worm' cheese) if you can find any.:)

Yeah me too - zero. However the places we are staying at in the Okavango would make these look dirt cheap. :) Include food though, so very different criteria.

Weeeeell how about that… never flown F but have stayed at Xplora Atacama.. min stay is 3 nights… :)
Of course there is a fair bit included at all the xplora's…I went for the horses.
I'm currently scheduled to go to Explora Patagonia later this year ...

Off to Sardinia tomorrow, staying in Alghero, can't say that I'm that interested in finding any 'casu 'fràzigu! Have had some decent reds there before and the local beer is quite drinkable as well. Really looking forward to the seafood, pity SWMBO has a shell fish allergy!

you staying at the Point are you? Should be beautiful in winter. Although I don't think I could go there in winter - just would be too sad to remember what happened. The army enquiry is still ongoing 18 months later....

Yes! We booked 18 years ago  but had hassles with work and couldn't complete.

This booking is May 16 - special birthday present for SWMBO. Have booked award seats there and back, but can only get J at the moment ... Like a Hawk, I'm waiting for F to open on CX or EK.
