Woolworths now caught out underpaying their staff

What? They've been no leaders of the SDA climbing ladders to success. Who is the person you're on about.
The SDA is very right, they recently gave away sunday penalty rates. I totally agree that Union screws their members. Just none of their leadership have climbed any ladders.
I was of the understanding that Dollar Bill was involved in one of the EBAs which gave the workers (from Dollar Sweets IIRC) a dud deal without their knowledge, along with an undercover payment to him. They may not have been Woolies workers, but my memory at the time was the AWU represented all workers in that sector.

That loser of the May 2019 Federal election also shortchanged workers at Chiquita Mushrooms and Cleanevent.

Woolworths is a retail business. The SHOPPIES represents retail workers. The SDA.
Dollar Sweets is a Manufacturing Business.

You have to use derogatory names and don't seem to even know the difference between unions. Perhaps it might be better to not share your opinions on such topics

Thanks for the advice Vic, I did admit to having the unions mixed up, but I still stand by my so-called derogatory comments re a certain union official.

The problem I have with the Woolworths announcement is that it came 8 months after they knew about it.

And the fact according to the SMH they tried to sweep it under the carpet.

“The second letter sent to Findley on April 5 proposed a “Confidential Release”. This was a legal agreement that offered his client $3000 on the condition he make no further claims and that he agree not to tell anyone - including his colleagues or the Fair Work Ombudsman - about the agreement’

It looks like this effects those on 50-70k a year, and Metro/BWS/Dans stores wouldn’t have the level of ‘department’ salaried staff that a Woolworths or Bigw have.

Big payouts coming for those who have been there for the last decade it seems.
