Will this bump me to platinum? Etihad flight

Hey guys sorry if this has been asked... I called velocity twice and no one seemed to know the answer.. perhaps someone has some experience here..

I'm hoping to get platinum before my Etihad flight in 10 days. I'm currently on 775 SC's.
I've got a OOL- SYD-MEL return in business this weekend which I believe will give me 220SC. This means I'll be 995...

Now my partner pools her points and SC to my account. She's flying in 2 days to Europe in economy with Etihad. Will I get her SCs if she's placed her velocity number in? It was booked via expedia so its technically an etihad booking?

I just don't want to get excited about the idea of getting into the first class lounge when I fly a week later if I might still be 995 and gold!

On the topic of the first class lounge.. any tips?

You will definitely get her SC’s if she has entered her Velocity number and her fare is eligible to earn. I’ve had SC’s from flights credit in 2 days and others in up to 9 days in the past.

also, my partner was bumped up when she was 15sc short of reaching WP, so theres a good chance you'll be bumped up.

Last year Etihad took on average 6-8 weeks to post status credits to VA. Not sure if that has improved in 2019?

Hopefully they credit quicker! I'll submit a manual request on the virgin website

Send an email to Virgin .. they comp the last 10 or 20 or so SC automatically in my experience.

I recall my partner got Plat this year at 970 or so.

Asking nicely will ensure it occurs.
