Where to stay & what to do (HKG, LHR and LAX)

Looking for some recommendations on where to stay and what to do in Hong Kong, London and LA in Aug/Sept this year. Looking to maximize benefits & points with Hilton so preferably staying in one of their hotels.

HONG KONG - Was looking at Garden Inn Hong Kong as it's much cheaper than Conrad. Only in HKG for one night and planning on visiting Victoria Peak and checking out the harbour. Had friends recommend Sheraton Hotel & Towers because of the views but not sure if it's in a better location.

LONDON - Absolutely no idea on where to stay here. Only in London for 3-4 nights. Heading to Serbia (Belgrade) for a wedding for 1-2 nights as well so any recommendations there would be appreciated too.

LA - Looking to stay around Santa Monica so DT Santa Monica looks like the best location - will spend sometime around this area but then also some in Hollywood so are there any better hotels there as I can drive between the two areas.

If you're only in HK for one night and want to go up the peak, get to the tram really early. The lines can be very long. Or you can take a bus or taxi up there if you want. Absolutely take a trip on the Star Ferry across the harbour as well. Also, if you have the time, grab a beer at one of my favourite places, The Beer Bay at Pier 3 in Central.
No hotel advice I'm afraid.

I think the HKG Conrad is worth it and it is centrally located for a short stay. As a HH Gold you would like your chances for a spectacular view. My only stay in London was at the Doubletree Victoria Station as at the time we decided to avoid the better located more expensive Hilton properties. It was a 10-15 minute walk to Westminster Abbey and 7-8 minutes to Buckingham Palace but a longer walk to West End. Of course you can just get the tube in quick order. It was a nice hotel with a nice breakfast. RE LA, I would stay at the DT Santa Monica over Hollywood every time. Good luck!

The Conrad in London was fantastic and sometimes available for a decent rate, sometimes not.

The Conrad is much closer to the Peak. If you are only in Hongkong for a night and can afford it book it for convenience and much more enjoyment than the Garden Inn.

As you would expect there are some good Hilton properties in London, I like the Conrad, close to Buckingham Palace/Westminster and the Waldorf, close to the Theatre district.

I liked the The Doubletree in Westminster with its Apple TV's and modern fit out, and the Hilton at Tower Bridge too - very handy for The Tower of London/Monument/HMS Belfast.

The Hilton at Paddington station is handy for the Heathrow Express. (I have stayed at the Metropole Hilton, a couple of times, just down the road from the one at Paddington Station and didn't think a lot of that - service was poor and the rooms tiny.)

If you have an early flight out from LHR then my favourites are the T4 Hilton and usually inexpensive Hilton Garden Inn.

....just an afterthought but a usually inexpensive and very good Hilton is at Wembley. (Inexpensive on days with no major events - so quite often!!) It is a fair way from the centre of London but right next to Wembley Park Tube Station, so jump on the Metropolitan Line and it is only one stop to Baker Street.
