With the Aquire year coming to an end and still a few points short of the qualifying 20,000 pts, I thought I'd ask the forum to check my logic...which seems to have come unstuck:

I used an TA to book a L class open jaw fare BNE-HKG/MNL-BNE

From the Qantas website, it advises

Based on this I was expecting 5,850 base points for each sector plus 40 SC. Needless to say the sectors posted with 3.900 base points.

As for Aquire, I really don't understand how they arrive at a posting points of 1,170. Do they publish how they calculate the miles earning? Can any of the experts advise of the L Class posting points look correct?

Aquire is 30% of the QFF earn for Y, 40% for W/J and 50% for F, if I remember correctly.

L class is definitely meant to earn Economy points and SC's not discount. I suspect what's occurred here is the QF work experience kid accidentally changed the V/L earning to discount when the domestic fare class changes occurred, but did not exclude international.

The procedure is you'll need to get it fixed in QFF first, then get Aquire to fix theirs.

OK, thanks for the feedback. I'm happy to pursue them, just wanted to make sure I was on the right track.

I searched the Aquire site and couldn't easily find this rate documented.

If you are going to toss around the peurile 'work experience kid' platitude, it would help to be correct. The base earning rate for L is 3,900 points, and the image shown by the OP shows the total amount earned by a silver (which is what the bit that says 'Silver' means), so is uplifted by 50%. The Aquire earning is indeed 30% of 3,900 points (as per the Aquire airline earn tables.)

Yes, thanks for helping with this. The confusion started when one of my linked staffers had travelled to HGK, similar itinerary and earned similar points into Aquire. Your assessment is correct.

Thanks, this makes sense now.

I guess I hadn't fully investigated the A=Q 1:1 thinking it was bi-directional.
