When do bookings appear?

G'day All :)

About 3hours ago I received an Email telling me that one of the legs on my wife's trip had to be rebooked as a seperate new booking.

Mind you for the past 2-3 weeks it has showed as "Confirmed" on the sites listed below and the Itinerary they gave me (sigh).

I looked on ViewTrip, Amadeus, Checkmytrip etc... and sure enough the flight in question (a connecting flight) is no longer listed, but neither is the new flight booking they made.

Since Head Office is closed until Monday and I can't ask them, I was wondering if someone could tell me how long until the re-booking appears on the above sites???

Wandered away and had a thought (yeah I'm amazed too) :o

Because I'm not familiar with the Terminolgy used, could "a new seperate booking" mean that I won't find it under the previous booking/reservation numbers I already have???
 
In short, yes...

Did they give you a new booking number?

The check my trip will only show flights still current (and not cancelled) under your old booking, but it won't show the new flights as they are under a separate booking. You should have a new booking number which you can use to check up on the changes.

The return flights were originally booked to start on the 31st of August, we changed that date to the 6th of August and the new details appeared under the Old Booking Number, hence I assumed the re-booked flight refered to in the email would appear under the Old Booking Number as well.

At first I thought it takes a certain time to appear on Check my trip, hence my question about how long, then I realised the word "seperate" might mean more than I thought.

I don't have the New Booking Number yet, the email I received was just a quickie from Head Office (who I'm dealing with now) to let me know why there is still a delay in getting the E-tickets I had been asking the Branch to supply for the past 2-3weeks.

I won't go into it anymore on this post as I intend to describe my experience with Flight Centre after I have the wife back in Australia (finally) and my emotions have subsided somewhat.

Thanks again for your response, I should hear from them Monday and will remember to ask if there is a New Booking Number.

Just a quick update.

The E-Ticket was emailed to me today and the "Issued Date" is the 31st of August, the same day the email said it was re-booked.

As harvyk advised, it is a New Booking Number and because I only had the Old Booking Numbers I couldn't see it beforehand.
