If you are wheelchair assisted, what was you experience while changing planes in Dubai and London Heathrow?

I posted a recent thread in Emirates Skywards section of the forum regarding issues encountered in Dubai for my elderly mam. I'm sure it's not a regular occurrence but it made a log and tiring journey a very uncomfortable one. If I get a chance later I will update this post with a link unless anyone beats me to it.

Of note, 10 days since I submitted our complaint and no response!!

I have just returned from Athens via Dubai and KL to Melbourne with wheel chair assistance at all airports. The Emirates service was faultless . On delivery by ambulance to the Athens airport I was met at checkin by an Emirates wheelchair assistant. This happened between each connection. All the staff were wonderful and very helpful. They took me to the various lounges, settled me in and then gave me a time that they would be back to get me. They showed up on time each time. They then went through all checks with me and took me up the air bridge to the plane when all I had to do was use my crutches to actually step onto the plane and make my way to my seat in First. When we arrived in Dubai from Athens we were rather early and an air bridge was not available so as I could not go down or up stairs they arranged the lifter for me. Got to see the back end of Dubai airport! On arrival in Melbourne many hours later the Emirates wheel chair assistant collected my luggage as well then helped me through Customs to meet my daughter at arrivals. The assistant then took me over to the Parkroyal to complete our journey. Very grateful for the smooth service . I understand that this was arranged directly with Emirates and re confirmed for all sects. It was a smooth service in difficult circumstances.
