An "always ready" in-flight travel bag is essential IMHO and mine always has:

1. an emergency low limit CC,
2. passport,
3. vaccination records,
4. commonly used immigration cards,
5. spare express cards,
6. spare passport sized photos,
7. spare glasses,
8. travel computer/tablet,
9. N/C headphones
10. passport and divers licence copies,
11. jumper,
12. toothbrush,
13. small toothpaste,
14. hair brush,
15. insect repellent,
16. sun crème,
17. band-aids,
18. hyperfix,
19. headache tablets,
20. betadine,
21. anti-inflammatories,
22. any scripts,
23. wall charger,
24. charger leads,
25. 100000mAh solar power bank/torch,
26. assorted pens,
27. notepad,
28. hard drive, and
29. small spray deodorant.

So what do you regularly carry?

Compression socks, swear by them now.

NC headphones, small stash of meds (panadine, lip balm, betadine throat gargle), eye mask, phone with local sim.

My phone is in my pocket but I have chosen one with a dual sim. Invaluable for me as I don't have to keep changing sim and wondering what I did with the other. Works a treat for me as I'm regularly in the same two countries for relatively short periods of time and in this day and age of CC's wanting to send a pin to your listed phone, it means I can very quickly enable roaming, receive the pin and then disable the roaming again.

I have a few seperate components kept in seperate sections:

- Toiletries: wet wipes, tissues, lip balm, nasal spray, eye drops, cotton buds, moisturiser, toothbrush and mini things like deodorant, perfume, mascara, comb - as well as a little pouch of drugs like headache/ migraine, Imodium, nausea, voltaren, temzapan

- Papers - passport, itinerary, copy of passport etc

- Clothes - Sleep pants and t shirt for the plane, change of clothes and underwear, socks and compression socks as well as hotel slippers.

- Misc -iPad, headphones, charger, pen, book, hair straighteners (not for use in flight but necessity either end!), ear plugs and eye mask, peppermints and usually a muesli bar/ nut bar/ sweets.

I usually carry five or six small men's scent bottles to keep fresh, nasal spray to stop sore ears, insulin so that I can live wherever I'm going, and noise cancelling ear phones to make it a pleasant trip listening to the entertainment.

Most things I take have been covered by swanning_it, above, but I also take clothes for a week and some small plastic containers of washing powder. I will carry separately a jacket to suit the conditions of the destination if it doesn't fit into my bag.

Notebook, IPAD, Noise Reducing Headphones, Charger and Leads, Thick Socks, Peppermints, I never take pain killers with me as I have had trouble a couple of times in immigration (some countries have VERY strict rules on pain killers).
