A friend recommended the app TripCase and I'm giving it a whirl (iPhone) - but wonder if there may be better out there for storing all journey details; flights, trains, hotels, etc..

TIA.

Another +1 for Worldmate, even if it does think the HI Darwin is in Brazil!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Love tripit. Don't use the others. Can be awkward to use at times but when you think of the difficulty involved in filing travel plans i think they do a great job.

Sent from my GT-I9100 using AustFreqFly

+1 for Tripit here. Very happy with it.

OT but Does anyone know if there's a way of exporting just your flight itinerary from Tripit? I think it would be useful for the travel plans sections of this site.

Another + 1 for tripit. I have a current booking which is parked in Brisbane and if I add more smaller trips it can't get its head around another trip overlapping it.

I find the software perfect for most of us, and it is especially handy, when I had [FONT=&amp]13 different airline reservations and not forgetting the 8 different hotel reservations.

I get TripIT to export ICS file for import into diaries or to send to other who need the trip.
Cheers.

I use Triptracker, which I link into all my hotel/airline accounts. It also links into Tripit which is great for my DJ/JQ bookings.

Used to use Worldmate but when I upgraded to a BlackBerry Torch it would not work at all and no amount of advice from Worldmate could fix it.
Now just use BlackBerry Travel which works fine except that I wish they would accept that WA gave up on daylight saving a few years ago!

I have my trip it default setting to put all new entries into "Unfiled" items otherwise it will overlap your trips.

e.g. In April I have travel over 4 separate bookings including a LAX-MEL flight with a return MAL-LAX in June.

If I did not trap it, all of a sudden my April trip will be lasting several months. Once the return Journey is imported, I go to unfiled utiels, open it, and copy the return segment to my "June" trip, then move the booking to my April trip, deleting the June segment in the process.

The only thing I'd like trip it to do better is to update flights/bbokings (based on carrier/hotel/booking reference?). I have had several changes recently (especially a host of AA bookings) and have to resend the updated itineraries; before deleting the changed booking from each trip before moving the revised bookings across.

Trip It Pro for me.
One you get your head around it easy to use. The small charge for "Pro" is handy - live updates to your mobile re departure times gates etc.
Handy to be able to e-mail family copies of trip details.

I just use my Google Calendar. Am I doing something wrong?!

But what about if you had a way to take that one booking code and it instantly add all your flights, hotels, car rental, directions, etc into your google calendar.....

It is gold.

Not sure what you mean by this? Currently I copy and paste my flight/hotel/job itinerary into the 'Quick Add' on the Google Calendar and it magically puts it where it's meant to be. What could make things easier than that?

You are better than this dinosaur.I use my head and sheets of paper.Works for me!

I was doing that up two years ago. Paper stack is easy, you throw them out as you use them and keep them in the order you need them. Just no backup if you loose the stack. :p

How about ... receive e-mail from hotel / airline / whatever confirming the booking, forward e-mail to TripIt. Because you've configured your Google Calendar to talk to TripIt directly, all of your trip items automagically appear in your Google Calendar - no typing or copy/pasting required!

At least, that's how it works for me .. TripIt is honestly one of those things I wonder how I managed without beforehand :D

TripIt here as well. My only argument with it is that, while it changes cities via flights, rail journeys don't do the same. And the cities you are in can't be edited.

Maybe I'm missing something? Oh, and the help pages, if you can get to them, are pretty near useless.

I'll add another vote for TripIt. I've got the iCal subscription URL entered into Google Calendar and also my phone, so the plans get added to TripIt and automatically appear in all my calendars. Plus I can get a URL to a webpage that displays also the info in a neat, sensible format that I can hand out to friends/family who might need to contact me so they know where I'm at. I've even got the sync with Gmail set up, so I don't even have to forward emails anymore, TripIt just picks up on the plans as soon as I make them.
