What's the worst thing to drink for the most toilet breaks on a long flight?

Beer, coffee, water, tea?

My question is, what makes you pee more frequently on a long flight and if you know it does why drink it in the first place or what determines the best time to drink it to achieve the least number of pee stops? Got me thinking... Is there a plan in place by frequent toilet users or is it just "go with the flow" so to speak?

I find Bollinger from the F Lounge goes through me quickly. I do try to hold it in as long as possible though to prolong that feeling of "wealth" as I hop on my Jetstar flight.

Greg.

The liquid consumed is almost irrelevant, what is most important is when you break the seal. Once the first natural break is taken the frequency increases almost exponentially.

By way of extreme example is the 2 litres of beer I consumed without natural break in a German beer hall, but then required a dozen or more breaks for the next 2 litres.

Whatever you drink don't break the seal:!:

For me I don't believe it is a drink I believe it is a Flounge that does it to me.

I think we need to put this question to David Boon ;)

Water with a fluid tablet would be the highest level of mistake I could think of at the moment.

I think the technical term is FFP - Fatal First Pixx.

I am usually OK in the air and do not need to go too often. Partly because I don't drink too much before a flight, partly because my body loves to retain fluids and partly to do with dehydration on board an aircraft.

Also helps that I hardly drink water, tea or coffee but will have 2-3 diet cokes and some spirits instead. I also try not to drink beer as that bloats.

Basically any alcohol will make you expel more fluid then you consumed in the first place. This is why alcohol dehydrates. The human bladder has a capacity of around 600ml to 800ml (but this varies). So if you consume alcohol it dehydrates yourself, so you naturally consume fluids and thus create a "cycle"!

One of our friends flew from LAX to SYD and didn't have to go. I think that was out there.

Beer, hands down. It's why I used to order/drink Chivas doubles only in the lounge before flights ;-) However when they had that month-long Belgian Beer Cafe promo/stand at the Melbourne QC I found it impossible to resist the allure of Hoegaarden on tap...
