What are we calling it... DJ or VA?

I noticed since the re-branding to Virgin Australia, many (including me sometimes) are abbeviating in posts to VA, where the flight code is still DJ (at least for domestic, Pac Blue and Poly Blue) . What are people's thoughts? I'm all for standards (maybe that's my IT brain kicking in), but I'm not sure why it's moved away from DJ? After all, I see people use QF to refer to Qantas Airways, and not QA. Does anyone know which IATA code Virgin Australia will use once all the re-branding and renaming is complete? Will they use VA domestically?

Will all DJ flights already in the system change to VA? Or will all the new flights added into the system, and available for booking change to VA, then eventuley after a while, all the DJ flights would have flown...

I'm voting for DJ until the end of the year. Meaning that we have a clear deperation between Virgin Aus, and V Aus. For now...

Remember that legally speaking Virgin Australia and V Australia are still seperate companies so I'm not sure how this may affect any merging/rebranding etc...

I am happy to translate between DJ and VA (I tend to know what people really mean), but personally use DJ for ex-Virgin Blue stuff and VA when talking about V Australia.

Good question though - I was wondering similar myself a little while ago (ie should I be swapping over).

DJ will be the airline code moving forward AFAIK, although VA makes sense the entity it belongs to will cease to be an airline as such as opposed to a name change.
