Hi Guys,

Hopefully this is not a silly question.

I have a Westpac Altitude Black AMEX/MC, my wife also has the same as it is a joint account.

Now can I transfer the altitude points to her VA account or does the VA account need to be under my name??

Thanks,
K.

You can transfer them to your VA account and pool them to your wife's... I have done it multiple times..

Thanks for your reply. How does the pooling work?

Basically my VA account has 0 miles and my wife's has a couple of thousand. And I need to book a ticket for her. So I was thinking to use her account as I don't need to transfer as many miles to redeem the ticket.

Do you mean I can transfer X amount of miles to my VA account then transfer it to her VA account? Easy process ?

Pooling is basically an automatic transfer of points and status credit to your wife's account, meaning every time you earn points (including credit card transfer)it will automatically get transferred to you wife's account. You can also transfer points to your wife's account online 4 times per membership year (minimum of 5000 points and max of 100000). You can also book your wife a ticket on your points.. I suggest go and have a read on Velocity website.

Note that if this works, it will all be on Virgin's end...

Westpac cannot and will not transfer to an account that isn't in the same name as the credit card

It works with Amex (as long as same surname). Sure it fails with Westpsc?
