I am taking a domestic flight from Sydney to Adelaide.
I want to stay at the airpot for about 4 hours after arrival.

Is it possible, does domestic Adelaide airport has lounges etc where i can kill some time ?

The question is do airport lounges at Adelaide allow arrival access. Not usually unless you have high level status.

Of course there is an IKEA about a 10 minute walk away. I find time disappears as soon as I step inside one. Just don't buy anything too big!

Why, because iCan.

haha! ok .. thanks for the suggestion. :)

Go and have a nice relaxing lunch at Enzo's Ristorante on Port Rd. it's only about 10 minutes drive away. Ensure you have the coffee gelati for dessert

4 hours at Adelaide airport with nothing to do is about 3 1/2 hours too long

I would have thought more like 3:45 too long. . . . .;) (no hard feelings dear old ADL - I still love coming home to you.)

every one has been so kind in sharing their ideas .. so let me tell what actually happened.

I MISSED THE DAMN FLIGHT.

it was QF81 and it is actually an international flight. I was suppose to reach the 'international' terminal about 2 hours ago.
but driver took me to T3 thinking as I am going to Adelaide it should be T3. due to this delay and me leaving already late from home, I missed the flight.

but the kind lady at sales help desk arranged a seat on flight leaving at 4.25pm, despite the seat costing about 4-500 dollars more.

and all the time I needed to wait at Adelaide, I spend waiting in departure lounge of sydney :)

Doh!

I don't leave such things to chance - I would have told the taxi driver "Qantas International Please" and nothing else - if queried about destination, well, it's not necessary for the driver to know ...

I know they may have only been trying to help, but the KISS principal (and all that) applies here.

will do. it was first domestic flight i took here ...

So you flew yesterday?

I should add that you could spend about 25 minutes walking over to the Ross and Keith smith memorial. Plus look at the cricket bats.

To be fair, I learned this in a difficult manner (if not "the hard way").

Last decade Qantas used to sell tickets on the positioning international flights between MEL and SYD - I would book these as a preference.

One day I had an argument with a taxi driver who insisted my early morning 747 flight to MEL would depart from the "Qantas Domestic" terminal (I know he was only trying to help). I had to demand he go to the international terminal with the driver stating he would not be at fault. It made for a rather stressful journey and it's one of the reasons for the above (sometimes I just say New Zealand or something).

(It was also one of the "bricks in the wall" that built my resolution to avoid using Taxi's whenever feasible.)

So now you will have to make a special trip to ADL to do all the suggestions offered!
