I'm at the end of day 10 of 14 day trip to England.

If you are coming over for hol's and want great places to stay, I completed my 3rd time to little langford, out of Salisbury. It is owned by an Earl and been managed by the one family since '41 and now one of the sons and his wife manage it. It is a dairy farm and if you are into 'being on the farm' you can watch the cows at milking. The scenery is magnificent and having tea in the guest lounge and the fire blazing away is just something else. The hostess is very warm and works hard to make your stay very special. I stay in the autumn ensuite room. Lying on my bed looking out at 'that' scenery I don't have the words to express how it makes me feel. As always, plenty of walking tracks near.

Salisbury is near stonehengh, Bath and the marvelous Salisbury cathedral. The day trips going on the back roads are filled with green, rolling hills, sheep, cattle, thatched roof houses, just fantastic, if you are into that kind of thing, which I am. You can't come over here and not experience history through churches, guildhalls, villages, etc.

Now finishing my stay in a very small place called beyton near Bury St Edmunds in East Anglia and b&b is also close to Cambridge. The b&b is a 15th century longhouse, with some of the original beams in it. This is my 2nd visit and already I'm missing it for I leave tomorrow. The owners are just wonderful. The b&b is large and rooms are very spacious. There are a family of geese that roam the little village green. There is no street lighting and you take a torch to walk to the local pub for dinner. I've found the meals at pub very good. I had my first 'spotted dick' pudding this trip. Discovered an aussie wine here that I want to find at home, called Sams Island, chardonay.

Tomorrow back to Kensington Hilton, I don't mind this hotel, but not the same as 'my' b&b's.
:(
Some more historical places to visit, Lavenham, is a medieval town, and the most amazing 15th century homes. Again so much beautiful scenery to see.
