I will be staying in London for the second week of Jan 2013.
Could any one share the experience of both hotels stay and which one would you return?
I am a HH diamond. Going to book 2 stand twin rooms for 4 of us.

Thanks

I had a week at the park lane about 18 months ago. Nice enough with friendly people and an ok exec lounge. I wa on an award so not sure if I got an upgrade.

I have had two separate nights at the Waldorf. I like the location more than park lane and I found the hotel had more style and character. Very small exec lounge. Great staff though - I stayed there on Thursday night and needed a work shirt for Friday - checked in at 7:45pm and shirt was picked up just before 8pm - back in my room before I gt back from dinner!!!

My experience with the Park Lane was back in 2007 so things may have changed.... I was there for work in August and the hotel was heavily booked. Many of the guests were cooking in their rooms and the food smells permeated the hotel. At a meeting late one night (about 1am) there were mice everywhere in the meeting room. I'm perfectly happy to acknowledge many hotels and restaurants probably have all sorts of pest problems that we're not aware of but certainly the cooking in the rooms couldn't have helped. Wasn't a fan after that!

I had a bit of an average stay at the waldorf just the other day. The location is really quite nice though and the staff are friendly.

Basically what happened was I wasn't given an upgrade so they said they will give me a recently refurbished room so I couldn't check in early (couldn't check in until 3 30). They said they would give me a bottle of wine, but it never did come. Unfortunately when I got in the room had a leaky ceiling so i called them to fix it which they did and offered me another bottle which also didn't come.

I was only given a 1 hour extension for late checkout too and it took over an hour and a half to print my boarding pass and send it up which they offered to do for free - which is fine, but I didn't expect it to take that long.

Anyway I still liked the hotel, but it seems there were some follow up issues. I am sure they would have honoured the wine gifts, but really couldn't be bothered chasing it up.
