I have had my interview at the consulate here in Melbourne and due to a drug trafficking conviction in 1994 it was declined immediately. The officer then told me he would recommend me for a waiver. I'm aware that it takes 6 months. But I'm worried in the sense that it's been 2 months and I haven't been asked for my passport. I contacted them and they said it can still be processed without it. I tried logging online to track it but it gives me no information other than when my appointment was. Would love to hear from anyone else who has been through this nerve wracking process. Preferably more recently if that's ok.

I have read some very helpful forum questions on here but a lot are fairly dated so wondering if anyone has recently gone through this process. Did they take your passport? Did the online tracking feature show anything other than your appointment date?

Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

Welcome to AFF - I see you have found the main discussion on this topic over in the 'Visas' forum. That is the best place for this issue. Anyone who has contributed to that thread will get an update notification so they'll know you've posted, and will be able to advise accordingly.

Thanks for letting me know. I did add to it. I'm one of those inpatient people who gets upset when there's no response in 5 seconds. Hehe. Thanks fir the heads up. I love this site. Been lurking for a couple of months now and needed to make myself known.
