Back booking flights again after paying a huge amount of tax.

If I book a waitlisted bus saver flight does it give you the option to confirm or does it just go straight to booked????

I need to combined this with another star alliance carrier with heaps of availability on Expertflyer.
So I dont need to pay heaps of points, I just want to pay for the trip as one route - ie Africa to Australia.

My thoughts were to waitlist and if it comes through then call the call center and sort the the flights under one booking if possible.

Any suggestions or helpful info.

I'm not exactly sure what you want to do.

When a waitlisted SQ redemption flight becomes available you will receive an email or text to say that the flight is now available. You then have to call the SQ call centre to actually book that ticket. This means you also get a chance to not book it and let it lapse. In your case, it means that you could check you other availabilities and complete the entire tix.

If you going to be combining other *A carriers then SQ would do this as a *A redemption without 15% discount. You could call SQ call centre and just do your entire itinerary now as a *A redemption and see if they can bring it all together for you.

You would need to work out what is going to be better for you as the total points may end up being less doing it all as one booking.

Does that help?

Thanks Albatross... thats great ..that is exactly what I wanted to know! How long do you get to call before the offer lapses?

I think for *A redemption is it 6pm Singapore time on the third day after it becomes available. But I've always had enough time.
