I have a question regarding waitlist.

What happens when a waitlist clears? Do the points get taken out straight away, or do you have a choice when it becomes available whether to take the ticket and then points get taken?

If the points get taken, do you have a choice to not take up the flight and get the points refunded?

When the Waitlist clears you will receive an SMS or an email or both. You can choose to accept whichever flight has cleared if your waitlist request included an already 'confirmed' sector.

You are then given a time to arrange ticketing which requires payment of the taxes and commitment of the miles.

If you don't contact SQ to arrange ticketing, then the waitlist lapses.

Your miles are not deducted until you contact them.
