Waiting waiting on sales :)

Also remember some of those cheap resellers do not work with live availability and you may go to book with them and find the price also changes.

That'd be my guess too. You make the booking, then the next day get an e-mail saying 'that fare is no longer available. Extra cost is xx_ if you wish to confirm booking.' (Yes, I've been stung.)

You do know there is a current EK/QF sale including trans tas Y/J/F fares till 18th Jan right?

So you did, kind of, get a sale fare which makes this post's point a bit moot, no?

Enjoy your NZ 787 ride though we'll never hear the end of it if they sub it for one of the dodgy lease aircraft due to their engine issues hahaha
Aye, I guess I did get a "Sale" fare, eh?
Silly me: its even described as such.
But no $699 ADL - east coast - NZ this time though.

Sounds like availability is tight in the cheap buckets rather than anything deceptive per se.
This was Qantas not a reseller.

Maybe it's just me but if there's a $700 airfare BNE-BKK return via SIN I'd want to see that airfare when I search for return flights which was not the case.

Here's another glitch. Wife's airfare cost ~$705. My airfare cost ~$866. Adding infant to my booking costs an additional $76 but adding infant to wife's booking costs $59. Why? 3K charges a fixed cost for infants and there are maybe taxes of $2.40 for the infant.

Not defending QF here or anything but my experience is that infant fares tend to be a flat 10% of the adult fare (obviously base fare) and that probably explains that. While 3K may charge a set amount, you're looking at a fare offered by QF which includes 3K, and that will have different conditions. Remember there can be many fares in the same market, even for a simple sector like SIN-BKK, and even for the same flight even equivalently priced fares MAY have different conditions depending on the carrier that issues the fares.

Also note some one way special fares are not always reflected in return fares.

I am not saying that applies to your specific example John, and I don't know why the websites would show different things, but remember if you booked after your wife did then availability could well have changed and heck fare offerings could also have changed even based on things like AP rules, or just what is offered at any particular point in time.

I'm more trying to find a possible explanation rather than suggest there isn't a problem with how QF displays some fares, specially connecting ones.

Apologies didn't want to start a new thread.

Have been researching BNE-BKK return for March-April and have been consistently seeing airfares >$900. It'snot quite high season as I am thinking of going before Easter and returning a week after Easter.

I have also been researching BNE-SIN to see if any discounts possible and was shocked to see base airfare of $900+ and ex-SYD $899. I recall there used to be scales of airfares from low season to high season but it would appear there is only one airfare now.

When did this change occur or is this a temporary glitch? Need to keep a close eye on sales.

Qantas has what appear to be good airfares to/from Queensland at the moment. SYD-BNE/OOL $109 one-way for first half of next year.

Forgot to buy some vouchers with last bonus SCs promotion.
