Hi VFF,

As outlined in any number of news sources recently (for example: Delta, Virgin Atlantic to Cross-Market Flights - DailyFinance), Delta have taken a 49% stake in Virgin Atlantic and both airlines will soon start dropping their respective codes on the other airlines' flights.

As it stands today - I can earn on Delta and Virgin Atlantic flights, but not if they're codeshares (Delta Connection operated flights notwithstanding). Given the news, could the Velocity team please add DL*VS and VS*DL flights as valid for earning points and status credits?

TIA :)

Sorry for the slow response.

Velocity members can only earn on:
- Flights marketed & operated by Virgin Atlantic, including codeshare services operated by Virgin Australia with a VS code
- Flights marketed & operated by Delta Air Lines, including Delta Connection services and codeshare services operated by Virgin Australia with a DL code
- Flights marketed by Virgin Australia with a VA code and operated by Delta Air Lines or Virgin Atlantic.

We are aware of the new DL/VS transatlantic partnership. But right now there are no immediate plans to allow earn on VS codeshare services operated by DL or vice versa, as our agreements with the individual carriers are bilateral.

Our partner relationships are ever evolving, so we will continue to monitor the needs and wants of those Velocity members flying with DL and VS.

Thanks for the question!

Ty for the detailed reply - please consider this thread as a need and want to earn points and SCs from this Velocity member who flies with both DL and VS (and will most likely end up on a DL*VS / VS*DL flight at some point). ;)
