Planning for my 2nd Trip to Northern Ireland, Galgorm castle specifically. Not visiting anything in the Republic. I have enough Qantas and Kris Flyer points to use either one or both. Just trying to figure out the most convenient airport to arrive in, wondering if anyone else has done the same pondering.
DUB is the easiest airport to get to from Australia with a few airline options, but its further away. even though only about extra 90 mins travel by car, the car rentals rates ex-DUB are 50% higher than Belfast.
Travel to Belfast City BHD can be one extra stop to get there, as its a domestic airport only, can only use BA to get there on points for that final leg.
Belfast international BFS has a fairly obscure collection of Western Europe airports that fly to it. No Star Alliance or Oneworld airlines fly to there. Seems pointless, but its really close to where we are staying.
last time I was meeting up with my crew in Belfast so I caught the express 2 hour bus from DUB airport to belfast city. Just may be easiest to do that again.
