Ugh - currently wanting at ADL - country wide outage of checkin system impacting fights - won't even let us queue for manual checkin as earlier flights take priority.

Yes that's us - TripIt shows new time of 4:30pm but departure board still shows 15:35pm - but agent in the lounge says it could change - in the past I've found TripIt to be more accurate than other sources in these instances.

TripIt just changed departure to 3:35pm - could be a good sign.

Just off phone to Plat line and they say Sabre is down nationally for them and other(?) airlines/

Delay with inward plane from SYD she said.

OOps - departure board now showing 4:30pm - so who knows. We're sitting in the lounge with our yet to be checked luggage

We were not even allowed to join the (manual) checkin queue as they were trying to get earlier flights through first so we went through security with our bags so we could wait in the lounge - will need to return to checkin at some point as our bags are too large to carry on.

1:55 delay on a BNE to SYD flight here...manual check of BPs against a printed list and even hand written BPs in some cases.

Checked in 5 mins ago.

System back up but agent screen was showing RED across the board.

Our SYD aircraft for 3.30pm has not taken off from MEL yet, and VA427 ADL-SYD now showing as 5.30pm in Lounge but 3.30pm on airport monitors.

Caught up with Luxury Lizard here - ADL lounge more packed than I have ever seen at 3.30pm -- will be a utter zoo at 5pm.

My flight from Sydney to Melbourne arrived at 1345. We then waited for over an hour on the tarmac for a gate to free up due to the landside Sabre SNAFU preventing aircraft from pushing back on time

Our blocked middle seat check-in agent told me was done was allocated. One of those things but they really should know when all pax are checked in and we were near last. .

Took off 3.5 hours late at 6pm, all due to VIRGIN issues, and the FA refused to even let us have a glass of wine.

"That will be $30 Sir".

Asked her to check with Purser, who came and confirmed it. We were in row 3, just 2 metres from Biz Class galley, and said surely she could use some Common Sense and just pour 2 glasses, if the minis on cart were audited, and she answered NEIN.

Then we arrive at end gate 40 at SYD at 8pm and Virgin staff had not been briefed, so we waited on plane for 5 or 10 mins until they got their act together.

Then our checked bags took 20 minutes from landing to appear, and Priority were not first off or even close.

Luxury Lizard can confirm all this as they too were waiting for baggage, and also were refused a wine.

Never an email from Virgin advising any kind of delay, at any time.

Aeroflot stuff all round.

Left our Adelaide home close to airport at 2.30pm SYD time and arrived home 9.30pm SYD time. SEVEN hours. Takes less time than that to fly to Asia.

I can confirm Ozstamps summary of events - I mean no Happy Hour as originally scheduled flight was 3:30pm - cripes how mean can you get Virgin?

Anyway - home at last - relaxing with a pre-retiring adult beverage.

Anyway - it was very nice to meet a fellow AFFer and his better half.
