Depart Syd VA1 July 8 and Return VA2 July 22 is $1278.54 inc taxes booked direct on Virgin site... Exactly what MandM was indicating above.

At this time of year I think this price is good. You have to decide whether this fits the budget.

I feel this is quite good for a direct flight in peak in economy.

Being American, I often fly back and forth.

$1000-$1200 in economy is a terrific fare any time of the year.

$1700-$1900 or less during school holidays are also great fares.

It seems everyone is price war-ing at the moment, so I would jump on them while you can.

I think the last time I paid less than $1500 to go back was over 4 years ago, so yeah, things are good.
