Hi all,

Have a question about how lenient VA are with status upgrades as I went through my past activity today after realising I didn't get upgraded to silver as I expected last month.

As I see it, I missed out on silver by one day/10SC as on 13 April 40 SC expired, I gained 80 SC on 14 April which took me to a total of 240 over the past 12 months...I knew not family pooling earlier would haunt me. Not sure what the 22 April status review is about - does this indicate someone had a look at my account and said no?

Does anyone know of VA being kind and awarding status in a similar situation in the past? It's probably worth me calling Velocity to ask the question as the worst they could say is no. Only logged in today as I just booked some flights for next weekend...

Thanks :)

P.S. For anyone wondering, I will get to those unfinished TRs soon - things have been hectic!

Oh bother.

I assume you can you see the OP, just not the table?

First item was processed 15 April 12, activity 13 April 12 for 40SC.
The last, processed 15 April 13, activity 14 April 13 for 40SC (times two).

There is also an entry for "Status review" on 22 April 13.

That is the important info.

That means VA has already looked into it and unfortunately you didn't get lucky.

Possibly leg ups are more likely to happen when family pooling is not prevalent (i.e. you personally fly them a lot, but not quite enough). That is a wild assumption on my part though.

Went down like a lead balloon with the operator. I guess the rules are the rules, even if it was only one calendar day or 10SC out, depending on how you look at it.

Quite disappointing considering I will get to silver anyway, I would have thought they'd be receptive to such a request, all things considered. If I'd signed up my brother to velocity earlier and pooled the flights we took together I obviously would have made it...same deal with some flights Mum took. Oh well...

Thanks for the comments.
