Virgin mocks Qantas with bill board ad

That’s so amazing.

So happy they are spending shareholders (my) money in this way. What have they been doing to improve their business and customer experience lately? :p:rolleyes:

Oh, that’s right, harassing their CRM database to vote for the useless Freddie awards.

Great.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

It is in response to the changes to the QFF program last week

Thanks, I understand that.
What I do not understand is the VA bill board advert - to understand the message I need to be aware of QFF changes?

It's near Sydney Airport, so many that see it will be aware that Qantas just made the biggest changes ever to their program.

And how would relate to Freddy Awards that concern PAST award seat availability? It's a stupid ad from a stupid airline but probably smack bang on for the kind of crowd they cater to.

Confusing message in my book.

I could take it three ways.
1. A subtle dig that Qantas made this out to be huge news, then made only minor changes
2. A call to those unhappy with the devaluation to premium rewards, to take a look at Virgin
3. A reminder to those unhappy with the Virgin program that nothings changed
- Still no lifetime rewards
- Still not a member of an alliance
- Still no Platinum/Business lounge etc

Haha, I think it is number 3. Defo! :p

Great.

Virgin already provide Priority boarding that actually gives priority and works. Actually providing a promised benefit, what more do you want?

I mean... no one is physically stopping you from dumping VA shares and buying QF if you think QF is doing really hot... it takes upwards of 5 mins to execute depending on the size of your holdings...

Either that or you can negotiate with the other VA shareholders to acquire a controlling stake in the company for a few hundred millions... then you can start teaching those in marketing on how not to waste the company’s (your) money...

Whatever anyone’s take on this, why does QF always seem to leave themselves open for a complete p!ss-take whenever they make an ‘important’ announcement ( ‘enhancement’ anyone... ;)).

The PR work experience kids meet the IT work experience kids meet the ‘designer’ work experience kids meet the past-it ‘celebrity chef’ work experience kids - and they all believe their own BS to the extent that they are seemingly impervious to being roundly laughed at...
