Virgin J flight on Singapore metal but unable to book the cook

Hi guys i have a flight in J on a VA code on Singapore metal that i believe I paid for in J saver class. I have the PRN and can view my flight details in the Singapore site and can even choose a seat but i can not 'book the cook' as meals do not appear to be modifiable. Is this due to the J saver? I also have a full J points award ticket for my wife, this I can 'Book the cook" but not choose a seat? Seems a bit odd, I assume i will have to call Singapore direct and try to sort this., and link the tickets too as this was not done by VA.

ok so i mean the actual sector. I know that certain flight sectors i have been on don't offer BTC options. Depends on flight destinations and times. Can't recall which now though. If it's long haul then perhaps you'd be best calling SQ.

Yes, on some sectors SQ doesn't offer this. I just checked a Velocity reward booking I have on SQ in J for SIN>SYD and under passenger details you should see 'meals' 'seats' and 'baggage'. If you click 'select/change' under meals, there will be a dropdown menu for lunch or dinner depending on your flight. Select book the cook here, then select 'classic lobster thermidor' in the next menu

The Meals tab is greyed out for me and does not open to a drop menu, The seat one does. For my wife's award booking the meals tab opens to the full menu, but the seats tab is greyed out and does not open.

The flights are MEL-SIN-CDG-SIN-MEL and all are listed on these legs, i can only assume it is a glitch because of the VA flight number, my wife's award booking has a SA flight number.
