Virgin International Codeshare Points Allocation.

I thought that I should bring this to the attention to all AFF members who have flown VA international codeshares and suggest that you check your points allocation.

I recent flew AUH-BRU-AUH-MEL on VA marketed flights (VA flight numbers). When points were allocated I was only awarded WP bonus points at the EY rate and so contacted the Velocity to sort the problem out. I was put on to a lovely lady by the name of Melinda who asked to forward a copy of my e-ticket (amazingly they have no access to this) to her and she would see what the problem was and sort it out.

Today I received the following reply:

"Thank you for sending in your enquiry regarding your VAustralia/Etihad flights. The system has not recognised them as a VAustralia marketed flight and for this I apologise. I have now added in as an adjustment to your account 6,828 points for the difference you should have received.

I can advise that higher management are looking into this system issue and if you have any further enquiries please don’t hesitate to contact."

Yes this is a rather annoying problem with Velocity but they are certainly aware of it though as I raised it with them a few weeks back and had some communication with management. There is a thread about it around here somewhere...
