So we got an email notifying us of changes to our return flights to Queenstown. I specifically booked for us to go via Melbourne in order to get the additional sectors and status credits that I need to maintain platinum. However it's now been changed to direct flights from and to sydney.

I have not yet accepted the changes. Can I request to still receive the sectors and SC for the original booking even if I accept the changes? If not can I cancel the entire booking? They are J class tickets.

Thanks in advance

I've had similar experiences and sorted it out by contacting the guest centre. They added the extra SCs to my account.

If they're J class purchased with $$$ (rather than points) you should be able to cancel for a refund Either way, I'd speak to them.
