I was looking at some rules for partner airline earning today on the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club website and noticed that the following has been added to the Partner Airlines page:

COMING SOON - VIRGIN BLUE

Virgin Blue will be joining Virgin Atlantic's Flying Club program in 2008. Once onboard, Flying Club members will be able to earn and redeem miles domestically within Australia.

Just noticed this today on the VS site. Hopefully there will be recognition each others customers' tier levels.

The crux will be whether VS will give at least 1 tier point per DJ flight under 2000 miles. That would be very nice, and an opportunity to do some status runs with DJ sales. Also it would mean being able to have a good international ff program alternative to both Velocity and QF for those of us on a best fare of the day policy at work.

Tie that in with the AMEX transfer, especially if they keep putting on the 20% bonus period that they have had for the last two years, and you have a pretty good program,

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
