An 11 year old plane with Rolls Royce engines, wonder what commentators will make of that? ;)

wow.. qf has had great luck buying older widebodies (ugly sisters anyone).
hope this has got a thorough refit and going over

You would hope it would be going through a refit as the product inside is quite dated.

Personally I don't really care at all about the age of an aircraft, as long as it's maintained well and is safe and comfortable!

For example I love the QF 763 fleet, take them any time anywhere over the current domestic 73H both QF and DJ.

Give me a 11 year old DJ A330 over a brand new DJ 73H sardine can anyday :)

I love the 763's on domestic duty.

But there are some people who feel these are long in the tooth and prefer newer 737's and A320's. Go for it....

I also love the 763s on domestic flights... I even flew back from PER on a 763 in October and I thought it was fine. I don't notice any difference in noise comparing the 763s to 738s....

It's going to be very interesting to see what DJ do with the interiors though.

Have to say that I'll always book a 763 if there is one at a convenient time, rather than a 73x

There is more legroom, and when there's two of you travelling, you don't have to have someone else sitting on one side of you (unless you really luck out and end up in the middle, although that's never happened to me)

VH-XFA is currently NW of Warrnambool on it's delivery flight as DJ 9082,should land in MEL soon.
Cheers

OOh, wonder what titles it will have (white, DJ or new scheme).
Unfortunately I think it will be all white although it is ex Emirates so it may even still carry the Emirates livery till it goes in the paint shop but I doubt it.
I'm sure there will be an eagle eyed AFF member in Melbourne to tell us.
Cheers

Just landed in MEL. No sign of it near the virgin terminal but there looked to be a big white bird around a330 size over near the John Holland hangers in the distance. Still, at the range I saw it from it could have been anything.
