Just received an email from Velocity stating the following.

Visits can be redeemed using 10,000 Points via the Velocity Rewards Store in advance of travel, or purchased with a credit card from the lounge reception on the day of travel for $65**. A valid same day Virgin Australia boarding pass must be presented and entry must be within 2 hours of flight departure time.
Please allow up to 3 days for lounge passes purchased from the Velocity Rewards Store to be credited to your Velocity account.
I thinks VA have realised that they had a GOOD thing going with this and have decided to bring it back. This is going to make my holiday in April MUCH more comfortable
