Google didn't help much so I may as well ask here.

Does VA sell duty free on their transpacific flights? I'm more keen on perusing the catalogue than anything else but couldn't find a web version of it.

Not that i can recall. But someone else might have more definitive answer.

If they do they hide it well. I've flown pacific with them about a dozen times this last two years (including a very recent flight) and there hasn't been anything to suggest they do duty free.

No duty free onboard - I was told (when I asked) that the potential revenue loss didn't make up for the guaranteed space and weight saving.

It's a fair point, I'm surprised airlines offer anything anymore.

I could see a buy onboard and pickup on the ground working well though, at least for consumables.

This also means that there are three less VoiceOver interruptions during flight, to let you know that in-flight shopping is now open, that it's about to close so hurry to pick up some "great savings" and that it's now closed.

Or, if you're flying AY - 20 less minutes of DF PA's. I swear what can be said in three seconds in english takes 3 minutes in Finnish. I didn't understand much, except for "Angry Birds" . . .

How transpacific are we talking here? If you're going to the USA, everything is cheaper, and some things quite a lot cheaper, in any American tobacco or liquor shop (if your convenience permits). I remember walking into a Rite Aid (a mini supermarket) in LA for the first time and being blown away by just how cheap booze is over there. But I digress.

Be well,
CB
